Abstract :ÖZET Atatürk Üniversitesi, Erzurum Tarım İşletmesi Palandöken Çakıllı Tım toprağında laboratuvar şartlarında yapılan hu çalışmada farklı. rutubet ve gübreleme seviyeLerinde kışlık buğday (Dancer) tohumlarının çimlenmes.ine simple ve triple (sırasıyla. SUMMARY Effects of Simple and Triple Superphosphate on Emergence of Wheat under the two different moisture levels and five phosphorus rates. This study has been undertaken to determine the effects of simple (% 16 - 18 PıOs) and triple (% 45 PıOs) superphosphate on the emergence of the winter wheat (Lancer) under two different soil moisture levels (1/3 Atın. and 4.0 Atm.) and five different phosphorus rates (0,5, 10, 15,20 kg. PIDek). Plastic boxes having an 9.5 cm. diameter and a depth of 5 cm. were filled with 200 gm. of sandy loam soil and packed. Then 15 seeds were placed at equal distances in a circular line totaling 11 cm. Fertilizers were placed in a narrow band on top of the- seeds and 115 gm. of soil was then ad· ded and packed lightly. The amaunt of fertilizer applied per cm. was the same as that which would occur in the field with rows spaced 18 cm. apart. The containers were covered and kept at room temperature for 21 days for emergence study. The emergence of wheat was recorded at the end of the first, second and third week. pH, water soluble f1uorine, elec. trical conductivity and salt index values of the fer.tilizers were also determined. 99 Analysis 'of variance results indicated that moisture levels and P rates were not significant on the emergence of .the seeds at the two weeks. On the other hand simple superphosphate was found to be significantly more detrimental on the emergence than triple superphosphate. 'The moisture levels X P rates was the on1y interacticm foun.d to be significant1'Y important. pH values for ,the simple and triple superPhospbate were 2.32 and 2.40, respectively. Electrical conductivitiesmeasured as micromhos/cm. 25°C were' 1057 and 786 for-the simple and triple superphosphates, respectively. The salt index value for the simple superphosphate was obtained to be higher than the salt index value. of the triple superphosphate, and the differenee between these two values was statis.tically significant at cıne percent level. The diHerences between the gypsum eontents of the two P sources due to diffe. rent materials used in their production as cited in the literature "Was thought to be main cause to the different salt indexes. The preference of triple superphosphate was suggested over simple super.phosphate, where P fertilizers would be placed in contact with wheat seeds. Keywords :
