Abstract :ÖZET Kabataş, bulunduğu bölgede temsili bir köydür. ONE MOUNTAİN VILLLAGE IN KEMALİYE COUNTY "KABATAŞ" Kabataş village is quite representative of many vilIage in this partieular area. Other villages 8how the same depletion of population, and present the same problems. The mavement of people from village is not to be deplored, beeauşe it is natural phenomena taking place the world over. If employment opportunities exist on the outside, the opportunity east of remaining in fanning becomes too great. on the other hand the village of this shouıd not be abondaned entire!y, because under a proper setting, the ones remaining in farming will have more land to work with. This adjustment in land eonsolidaiion has not as yet taken plaee in Kabataş. The old tradiHanal barries of land ownership eontinue, and those away would rather leave their land idle than rent it to others who remain. İn Kabataş the "Working away" eoncept has bacome traditiona1. in faet several fatnilies have accepted the praetice of having the husband and father away for the greater of the time year after-year. However, the younger men are beginning to make their move permanent by taking their families with them to he eity. it was observed that all 'former residents stilI maintained strong ties with he willage. Most of them return to Kabataş on their vaeations. Same families maintain their house there just for summer occupaney. All inall this smaIl viııage presents an inte~ resting study in ineomplete migration. Keywords :
