Abstract :ÖZET Bu çalışma Sl::ra şartlarında toprağa ilave edilen çeşitli dozlardaki olgun ahır gübresinin mısır bitkisinin çinko alımına tesirini incelemek gayesiyle yapılmıştır. Denemede kullanılan Palanddh:n çakıllı tım toprağına üç seViyede Zn (0-5-10 kg. Zn/Dek. SUMMARY The Effect of Farm Manure Application on Uptake of Zn by the Hybrid Com Under Greenhouse Conditions. This study was conducted to determine the effect of farm manure application on the uptake of Zn by the hybrid com under greenhouse cond.itions. Well decomposed farm manure was added to the soil on volume basis at different rates (% O 25 % 50 % and 75 % of total siı.e of the cans) and mi.xed throughly. After placing the soil in plactic covered 3 lt. cans. Zn was given at 3 levels (0-5-10 Kg Zn/Dek. as ZnS04.7H20 22.72 % Zn) under the seeds in solution. 15 kg. N/Dek. 15 Kg. P20s/Dek. and 15 Kg. K20/Dek. were added to the each can to meet N-P-K requirements and well mİxed Factorial, completely randomized black design with 3 replications were used. The moisture retained under field (greenhouse) water capacity cond.itions was determined for each soil group mİxed with different rates of manure -. The moisture content of the soils was adjusted to 50 % of this value by the addition of tap water throughout the experiment. Hybrid com (Michigan 202) was seeded and the plants were thinned to 3 per can. The above portian of plants were harvested after 50 days of growing period, and total Zn was 132 analyzed according to the dithizone method. The plants received higher Tates of farm manure and no Zn showed Zn deficiency symptoms stundeted over-all growth and chlorosis. This was attributed to increased microbial competition for the Zn present complexing of Zn by organic matter and phytotoxic properties of the farm manure. The farm manure and Zn applications were found to be statisticaIly significanL Non significant interaction indicated that the amount of Zn taken by the plant was regularly decreased by increasing the farm manure applications. Whereas increasing the rates of Zn resulted regular increases on the Zn uptake at every farm manure rates. The differences among the mean, values 'for Zn application were signi. ficant according to Duncan's new multiple range test. In the farın manure application rates 0% and 25 % be10nged to one population and 50 % and 75 % belonged to one anather population. Orthogonal comparisoru; gaye significant linear and quadratic relationships for Zn and only linear relatianship for the farnı manure. In conclusian the application of farm manure to the soil at the rates of 25 %to 50 %on volınne basis may reduce the uptake of Zn and result haıardous effects on plant growth. Keywords :
