Abstract :%/ Hyponatremia is the most common electrolyte disturbance seen in the hospitalized pa¬tients. Severe symptomatic hyponatremia (serum sodium concentration < 120 mmol per liter) may be associated with permanent brain damage or death. However, many authori¬ties have reported that rapid correction causes pontine and extrapontine myelinolysis. Therefore, the treatment of hyponatremia is controversial. We present a patient had a neurologic syndrome with clinical findigs typical of pontine and extrapontine myelinolysis, which developed after the treatment of severe hyponatremia Hiponatremi, hastanede yatan hastalarda en sık görülen elektrolit bozukluğudur. Keywords :
