Abstract :SüleymanDemirel Üniversitesi TIP FAKÜLTESİ DERGİSİ: 1995 Haziran; 2(2) Lipoprotein Metabolizması ve Ateroskleroz ile İlişkisi Namık Delibaş Veysel Tahan Özet Anormal lipoprotein düzeyleri ateroskleroz risk faktörleri arasındadır ve koroner arter hastalıklarının değerlendirilmesinde biyokimyasal bir markerdir. Apolipo-proteinler lipoproteinlerin sentez ve katabolizmasında önemli rol oynar. Apo A-I, lesitin kolesterol acil transferazı aktive eder. Apo C-II ve C-lIl lipoprotein lipazı regüle eder. Apo B-100, B-48 ve E kolesterolün hepatik ve ekstrahepatik hücrelere alınımını regüle eder. Bundan dolayı lipoprotein ve apoproteinlerin araştırılmasının ateroskleroz gelişimini anlamada önemli parametreler olduğu görüşü ağırlık kazanmıştır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Lipoprotein, apolipoprotein, ateroskleroz. Abstract Lipoprotein Metabolism and its Relationship to Atherosclerosis Abnormal lipoprotein levels are among the riskfactors that cause atherosclerosis and, therefore, have been used as biochemical markers in assessing risk of developing coronary heart disease. Apolipoproteins play majör roles in regulating lipoprotein synthesis and catabolism. Apolipoprotein A-I activates the lecithin cholesterol acyl transferase, apolipoprotein C-H and C-III regulate the lipoprotein lipase, and apoprotein B-100, B-48, and E control the cholesterol uptake into hepatic and extrahepatic cells. Therefore, investigating the alterations of lipoprotein metabolism in disease states at the apoprotein level may give increased insight into the underlying mechanisms of lipoprotein changes andprovide betler understanding about the prematüre development of the atherogenic process. Key Words: Lipoprotein, apolipoprotein, atherosclerosis. Keywords :
