Abstract :A Suicide that the director Metin Erksan adapted to the cinema based on Samed Ağaoğlu's story of the same name should be considered in the context of literature and cinema disciplines. According to cinema semiotician Christian Metz, the main purpose of cinema semiotics is to determine the meanings of the codes transmitted to the audience through in formation channels such as photography, sound effects, moving effects, moving images and lighting. Christian Metz also states that semiotic cinema will develop with the contributions of disciplines such as sociology, psychoanalysis, literature, psychology and philosophy. In accordance with Metz's theory, Metin Erksan adapts Samed Ağaoğlu's story, A Suicide , to the cinema. Cinema adaptations are materials suitable for interdisciplinary studies. Furthermore ınterdisciplinary studies are piece - oriented process rather than integrity. The piece - oriented structure of semiotics provides compreherensive opportunities for interdisciplinary research. A Suicide film is a relevant material for interdisciplinary research with its place in the axis of literature and cinema disciplines, with codes consistent to meaning from various information channels.
