Abstract :Background/Purpose: Study was conducted to evaluate the relationship between social support and breastfeeding efficacy in primiparous pregnant women. Methods: The study, which was carried out as a descriptive and relational screening, was completed with the participation of 350 pregnant women who met the inclusion criteria. In the collection of the study data, a questionnaire form, Prenatal Breastfeeding Self Efficacy Scale, and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support were employed. Results: In the present study, a positive relationship was determined between the pregnant women’s breastfeeding self-efficacy and perceived social support. Conclusion: As a result of the study, it was concluded that as the social support provided to pregnant women in the prenatal period increased, their breastfeeding self efficacy also increased.Keywords : Perceived social support, breastfeeding self-efficacy, prenatal
