Abstract :Aim: This study was conducted to determine the effects of nutritional habits on blood lipid levels in patients with coronary artery disease. Study Design: This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on patients who were treated in a cardiology clinic of a training and research hospital between 1 March and 30 May 2016. The G*Power 3.1.5 package program was used to calculate the sample size. The sample size was 105 patients, with a 95% confidence interval and 80% ability to represent the universe. The data were collected using the questionnaire form prepared by the researchers, containing the demographic characteristics and nutritional habits of the patients. Descriptive statistics and chi-square test were used in the data analysis. Results: The mean age of the patients was 66.66±10.77 and 58.1% of the patients were male. The mean total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and triglyceride values of the participants in the study were found as 175.83±42.68, 113.48±30.41, 44.53±17.95, and 139.76±60.93, respectively.
