Abstract :Objective: The study was conducted as a descriptive study to investigate the views of midwives on researching and using the results of the research in care.Material and Method: The study was conducted with a total of 104 midwives working in a maternity hospital, a state hospital and three different family health centers connected to the Konya provincial center, and who agreed to participate in the study. The data of the study were collected by a questionnaire prepared by the researchers. The data were evaluated as descriptive statistics by the chi-square test for frequency distribution and percentage ratios and the significance test for the difference between the two percentages.Results: It was found that 34.6% of the midwives were in a research process related to midwifery, 58.7% of them were willing to participate in research projects, 86.1% of them n=31 were included in the data collection period of the research, 21.2% of them benefited from the results of the research conducted on midwifery care, 63.5% of them participated in scientific meetings related to midwifery, 26% of them followed a periodical related to midwifery, and 15.4% of them were members of Midwives Association, 65.4% of them knew how to use a computer, 56.7% of them knew a foreign language at the intermediate level. The frequency of research participation of midwives who were single, younger than 35 years of age, had a bachelor’s or master’s degree and who had been working for 10 years or less, was found to be higher compared to others with the difference between them being statistically significant pKeywords : Midwife, midwifery care, research utilization, barriers to research utilization, midwives’ opinions
