Abstract :Aim: Existance of individual may possible when integrity of his/her physical, emotional, social, cultural, spiritual and entellectual dimentions is prevented and sustained. Nurses should have the knowledge and skills which cure all these parts. Aim of this research is to determine the knowledge level about spiritual care and spirituality of nurses.Material and Method: The samples of the research are 103 nurses who work in Nevşehir State Hospital. Due to Voluntary participation and unaccessiblity only 64 nurses answered the questionnaire. Data was gathered by a questionnaire form developed by reseachers and by the spirituality and spiritual care rating scale. In the analysis of the data Independent sample T-test and one-way ANOVA tests were used to evaluate. Results: 59.4% of nurses admits that they have the knowledge about spiritual care but due to inadequate time and personel, the needs of spiritual care of patients are not met. Listening and conversationwith patients are determined as a way by the nurses who state that they meet to needs of spiritual care of patients. Average total scale points obtained from spirituality and spiritual care rating scale by nurses are determined as 3.11 ± 0.41. Conclusion: The findings of the research shows that the knowledge of nurses about spiritual care nursing is not sufficient. The suggestion is inclusion of spiritual care courses in nursing education and in service training programs
