Abstract :To prevent pterygium progression, no certain medical or surgical methods are known however sun glasses with an ultraviolet filter and hats are recommended. In our case, pterygium which developed 7 years after laser in situ keratomileusis LASIK did not progress for a follow-up period of 2.5 years as the flap edge acted as a barrier against progression. The course of pterygia after LASIK are not reported in the literature. Our case is important in two aspects that it both documents the course of pterygia after LASIK and the possible preventive effect of a corneal cut on the progression of early pterygiaKeywords : Pterygium, LASIK, corneal flap
