Abstract :Basal cell carcinoma BCC frequently occurs at skin of nose, but primary involvement of anterior nares and nasal floor seems to be very rare. A 62-year-old man is presented with an ulcerated plaque on the right nostril which developed 10 years ago and enlarged in time. He denied excessive sun-exposure or trauma to this area. The history was negative for immunosuppressive diseases or therapies. On dermatologic examination, small, pinkish, waxy papules composing a rolled edge were seen on the base and lateral walls of the right nostril. The lesion was extending into nasal cavity, with an indistinct border. Total body skin examination did not show any findings for syndromic BCC. Histopathologic examination revealed a solid type of BCC, involving both skin and mucosal surfaces of the nostril. In several large case series of nasal BCC, involvement of nostrils was exceptionally rare. The cause of this infrequency is not known exactly yet, but is likely to be affected by a relatively low exposure of ultraviolet irradiation and undefined factors. Keywords : basal cell carcinoma, nostril, anterior nares, nasal floor
