Abstract :Iıntroduction and Aim: Inflammatory Fibroid Polyp is a rare benign polipoid lesion of the Gastrointestinal tract commonly found in the stomach, however, it can also be found elsewhere throughout the gastrointestinal tract. The lesion is typically 1-3 cm in size, generally found as an obstructive lesion, however, may also be an isolated incidental finding during endoscopy. We presented here a case with giant inflammatory fibroid polyp causing anemia. Case: A 53 year old male presented to our hospital with a chief complaint of weakness and pallor. Subsequently, physical exam and laboratory evaluation were consistent iron deficiency anemia which prompted colonoscopic investigation that revealed a 7 cm pedunculated polyp in the ileum approximately 20cm proximal to the ileo-cecal valve. As a result, a laparoscopic segmental resection of the ileum was performed and the histopathology confirmed the diagnosis of Inflammatory Fibroid Polyp. Conclusion:This case is a reminder that IFP may be an infrequent cause for iron deficiency anemia in selected cases. Keywords : Fibroid polyp, anemia
