Abstract :Purpose:In this study, it was aimed to determination of death anxiety in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholestectomy. Patients and Methods:This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted between August 2019 and January 2020 in the general surgery service of a private hospital with 114 patients. Descriptive characteristics form and Thorson-Powell Death Anxiety Scale were used to collect data. Statistical evaluation of the data was performed using the IBM Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 24 program. The results were interpreted at a significance level of p <0.05. Results:Death anxiety scale total score and subscale mean scores were high in married and working patients and the difference between them was statistically significant (p <0.05). However, the average score of those who define death as fate, death; It was found to be higher than those who described it as fearful, uncertainty, end and salvation. Conclusion:It was found that the level of death anxiety was high in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The death anxiety level of the patients; It was determined that it was affected by age, marital status and employment status.Keywords : Nursing, Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Death anxiety
