Abstract :Purpose: The aim of the study is to bring "Attitude Scale Towards Professional Autonomy for Nurses”developed by Asakura and colleagues in Japan in 2016 into the national nursing literature. Methods: The study was conducted methodologically. The universe of the study consists, a total of 467 nurses working in the clinical and intensive care units of a university hospital in the province of Izmir; The sample of the study consists in case was aimed to reach 180 nurses, which is 10 times the number of items until based on the scale item number, but 205 nurses were formed considering possible losses. The nurses to be sampled were determined by the stratified sampling method in proportion to the total number of nurses working in clinical and intensive care units. In the validity and reliability stage of the scale, factor analysis was used to evaluate language validity, content validity, and construct validity. However, test-retest analyzes were used. The internal consistency of the scale was evaluated with Cronbach alpha coefficients for each dimension. Results: In this study, the scope validity index values of the scale were obtained as 0.80 and above. In the construct validity evaluation, the result of the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin test was obtained as 0.889 and the Bartlett test result was p= 0.000<0.05. As a result of factor analysis, the three-factor structure of the scale was confirmed to be confirmed, and the total variance value announced was found to be 59.39%. In test-retest analysis, Spearman Rho coefficient was used and the correlation coefficients of the items were found to vary between 0.353 and 0.813. Cronbach Alpha value of Attitude Scale towards Professional Autonomy for Nurses was found to be 0.912. Conclusions: As a result of the analyzes; the Attitude towards Professional Autonomy Scale for Nurses was found to be a valid and reliable scale for Turkey. Keywords : Autonomy, Professionalism, Nursing, Validity and Reliability, Scale
