Abstract :Purpose: This is an analytical / cross-sectional type study to determine the status of nursing interventions and factors effecting nursing interventions. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted with 386 nurses working in the University Hospital and State Hospital between the dates of January-October 2018. The data were collected by the Nurse Identification Form and the Assesment of Implementıon of Preventıve Nursıng Interventıons for Patıent Falls Form. Descriptive characteristics and chi-square test in data analysis. Results: The mean age of the study nurses was 32.31 ± 8.48, 84.4% were women, 59.7% had postgraduate education, 89.6% were clinical nurses and 20.1% were anesthesia intensive care units. The nurses included in the study, 31.8% stated that they experienced a patient fall and 90.3% of the nurses stated that they used scales to determine the risk of falling and 76.6% stated that they used markers. It was determined that almost all nursing interventions aimed at individual falls were performed by nurses and the least applied intervention was to know the risky drugs used by the patient (56.5%). It was also determined that the majority of environmental nursing interventions were implemented by nurses and the most frequently used intervention was to remove obstacles (97.4%) in walking paths, to evaluate the risk of falling environment (56.5%), and to ensure that items such as dining table and eteger were close to the patient (56.5%). There was a significant difference between the nurses\' age group, working year and clinical practice and the status of performing some nursing interventions to prevent falls (p <0.05). Conclusions: According to the results of the study, it is concluded that the majority of nursing interventions that are effective in preventing patient falls are applied by nurses and the nurses\' age group, clinics in which they work and the year of study affect the application of some preventive nursing interventions.
