Abstract :During the course of a visit to the fossiliferous region of Küçükyozgat\' in the Fall of 1953, with the help of a few workers, I opened a small pit in the fossiliferous locus I had discovered and excavated in 1951, which is just to the southeast of the site first visited by Tschachtli in 1941. During the course of this brief excavation, near the pit I dug in 1951, was found the skull of a small carnivore belonging to genus Promephitis, which is the first specimen of this genus reported to date from Anatolia. This skull was found embedded in the whitish calcareous marls of lacustrine origin at this siteKeywords : Küçükyozgat, Lower Pliocene, Anatolia, Anthropology
