Abstract :Due to this fact that the Naqshbandi Tariq is also a social phenomenon, its political functions are conspicuous and it has had a close attachment with the economy, Sufism in Kurdistan could be evaluated beyond the viewpoint of the individualist clergy. the Kurdish political movements passed the tekke and khanqah (monastery) and Tariqat’s sheikhs have become its leaders and supporters. Addressing the very fundamental question of how sheikhs of the Naqshbandi Tariqat took advantage of the capacity of their active presence in the religious, political, social and cultural mosaic of Kurdistan and turned it into a national movement is the focus of the present article and the role of the Naqshbandi Tariqat in the development of the movement. Barzan, as well. This article will attempt to analyze the social, cultural, intellectual, political and economic layers and dimensions of the Naqshbandi Tariqah in the formation of the Sheikh Barzan’s movement by presenting a historical report using the historical research method and within the framework of the descriptive-analytical approach.
