Abstract :This essay discusses the metaphysical foundations, epistemological and historical background of modern knowledge and science, from the perspective of Islamic theology. It also discusses how Muslims can secure themselves from the intellectual and moral corruption of modernity, if any, while benefiting from its achievements.
