Abstract :In light of the great number of displaced people in the camps of northwest Syria, and the sudden disasters that occur in these camps, such as floods resulting from heavy rains and strong winds in winter, it seems that the future of the displaced people is uncertain, and great challenges are facing them to complete their life cycle normally and in living conditions that ensure their protection, safety and preserve their dignity, came the necessity of highlighting this problem by highlighting the most important causes of the disaster, the methods and strategies of humanitarian fieldwork in the region to avoid this disaster and mitigate its danger to the affected population, and study and analyse the views and suggestions of the affected population, to form a deep and comprehensive understanding of the disaster history, the needs of residents of the region, and the general situation, to reach the most appropriate strategies to mitigate the impact of this disaster and its avoidance. The paper examines the history of the disaster, the response types diversity to it to understand the reality that can help in solving future problems, the problem limits, three case studies through the analysis of the opinions of experts working in the field of emergency response to repeated displacement situations in the region, the need resulting from the annual winter flood disaster that the region has experienced and is still going through, analytical study for the community participation, concludes with discussing the inducted results, suggesting recommendations, and future work to apply.Keywords : northwest Syria, flood, disaster, response, disaster risk reduction
