Abstract :Anatolia, with the conquest of Alp Arslan in 1071, became a place of freedam of thoughts, where organized state government prevailed and fine arts developed. Because of sultans' appreciation of poets and scholars, many people came to Anatolia, especially from Iran. This process continued after the conquest of Constantinople and its being the capital of the empire as a cultural and scientific center, and it attracted many people from Iran and Central Asia. Basîrî was one of them who came to Anatolia at the end of the XVth century and never returned his motherland. Basîrî being honored by the Palace and statesmen of the time, became populer as a witty-man and looked for the social gatherings of dignitaries. He was successful in Persian poetry as well as in Turkish poetry. In thıs study, firstly, Basîrî's life and works will be pointed out, and then his Turkish poems and poetic styles will be analyzed.
