Abstract :Regenerating dentin-pulp complex (DPC) using tissue engineering offers a novel and promising therapeutic alternative for restoring teeth. A crucial component of such a therapy is the designing and fabrication of an appropriate 3D Scaffold. In this review, we set out to highlight some of the general challenges associated with optimizing the most suitable scaffold for DPC regeneration to develop \"bio-mimetic\" approaches that influence stem cell proliferation, differentiation, and angiogenesis. It is essential to comprehend the biology and physical features of the dentin-pulp complex with updated bionanotechnology to overcome the limitations of biomaterials to address the challenges in manufacturing the optimal scaffold. To date, current scaffolding models fail to regenerate a whole tooth.
