Abstract :Six new 3-pyrrolin-2-one derivatives were synthesized via the condensation reaction of amino acid esters (2a-f) with 2,5-dimethoxy-2,5-dihydrofurane (1) in acidic medium. This simple one-pot reaction furnished the corresponding pyrrolinones (3a-f) in acceptable yields.
