Abstract :Purpose: This study aims to examine coaches\' daytime sleepiness levels in relation to gender, physical activity level, and certain anthropometric variables. Materials and Methods: The study involved 330 coaches (173 women) from various sports in Istanbul. Daytime sleepiness was measured using the Epworth Sleepiness Scale, and physical activity levels were assessed with the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) short form. Anthropometric data (body weight, height, waist circumference) were self-reported. Results: Female coaches had higher Epworth Sleepiness Scale scores than male coaches (p 0.05). A significant negative correlation was found between physical activity level and daytime sleepiness (r = -113, p < 0.05). Conclusion: The study found a significant negative correlation between physical activity and daytime sleepiness, highlighting the importance of physical activity for sleep health. The young age of participants may limit the generalizability of these results, suggesting a need for further research with older adults. Keywords : pysical activity, daytime sleepiness, coach, gender
