Investigation of Psychological Resilience Levels of Boxing Sports

Abstract :The aim of this study; the resilience level of the athletes in the sport of boxing club based in Istanbul, is to examine several variables. The study of 166 women, 149 men, and 315 athletes participated. To measure the resilience of the athletes in the study Block and Kremen (1996) developed; Karaırmak (2007) and adapted it into the Turkish by Ego Strength Scale are used. Research in Statistics; parametric tests for independent samples which causes the normal distribution of the data t-test and ANOVA was used (α = 0.05). According to research results; A significant difference between groups concerning gender comparisons was not significant (p> 0.05). According to the results of physical education a significant difference between the groups with the comparison variable depending on the age of the teachers was not significant (p> 0.05). However, the active sports life of athletes to express themselves in everyday situations and their status has been determined that the significant relationship between resilience levels (p <0.05). The findings are in line; active sports athletes do in their resilience and significantly above the level of self-expression is effective.Keywords : Sports, Box, Psychology, Psychological Resilience
