Abstract :The thermodynamic analysis and optimization of combined power and refrigeration cycle as well as the improved vapour absorption refrigeration system necessitate the development of computer based thermodynamic properties of ammonia-water mixture. In this work, a computer code has been developed for the thermodynamic properties of ammonia water mixture for different pressures, temperatures and ammonia mass fraction concentration. This has been achieved by using some exact thermodynamic relations and some co-relations available in the literature. The computed results have been compared with the published experimental data and the agreement is found to be of good accuracy. The errors in the computed results for different thermodynamic properties are slightly more at comparatively high pressure and temperature. The maximum error is found to be with saturated liquid mixture entropy and its value is also less then 3.8% even at a high pressure of 34.47 bar. Keywords : Ammonia- water mixture, enthalpy, entropy, Gibbs free energy, mass fraction, thermodynamic properties
