Abstract :The main reason for the intense discharge of chemical pollutants into nature is the increase in the world population. These pollutants disrupt the natural balance in soil, water and air. However, this effect is most prominent in the aquatic ecosystem. These pollutants are considered to be predominantly endocrine disruptors (EDCs) and which well known EDC is Bisphenol A. Bisphenol A is a chemical used in making polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. Also it is one of the most produced chemicals worldwide and it cause serious problems to health of aquatic population. This review provides information about the discharge routes of BPA, its effects in the aquatic system and its mechanisms of action. Keywords : environment pollution, toxicity, endocrine-disrupting
