Abstract :Interest and tendency in autonomous vehicle technology have increased in recent years with increasing traffic density and accidents. The main problem with this technology is how to process the real-time image. There are different methods and approaches as a solution to this problem. The research was conducted about autonomous vehicles that can support the driver with fast, real-time and robust detection and recognition of lane and signs techniques. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) have been developed to approaches to driving the driver from drab driving rules, to significantly improve driving safety and comfort. This survey presents a literature review of some important sections in the field of autonomous vehicle development, which based on real-time image processing techniques. In addition, this survey provides a comprehensive study of the perception of a lane and the perception and traffic sign detection and recognition (TSDR) based on image and video data. Thus, it is thought that future autonomous vehicles will be guiding the development of detection and recognition system of a lane with effective traffic signs in real-time image perception.
