Abstract :Liberal hegemonic world order established after WWII had one of serious blows with the emergence of global economic crisis since 2008. Most of the thinkers agree that we are witnessing a transition period from American led world order to a ‘Multiplex World’, in Acharya’s terms, emphasizing an order in which power and leadership are increasingly dispersed. In this changing context of international order the struggle between established powers and emerging powers within regions and global institutions revolves around making their voices to be heard. Informal groupings such as G-20 and BRICS became platforms of emerging powers to increase their voices about global governance of many issues and hence to be accepted important actors in this new multiplex world. MIKTA, as a group of emerging powers comprised of Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey and Australia, emerged in 2013 as a new informal grouping of middle powers in this context. The paper will basically search for answers to these questions: What are the reasons bringing MIKTA countries together? What are the potential roles of MIKTA to play in changing world order compared to other informal groupings of emerging powers? It will discuss that MIKTA has limited role to play in global governance with a qualitative analysis. Keywords : Crisis of the Liberal Order, G-20, BRICS, MIKTA
