Abstract :Majority of the energy resources used all around the world are fossil-based energy resources that lead to environmental problems and have gradually increasing prices, such as natural gas and petroleum. Prices of agricultural products increase in parallel with the increase of energy prices. On the other hand, the global and local restrictions imposed on the chemical pesticides used all around the world for disinfecting hotbeds made us gravitate towards using solar energy, one of the zero energy resources, in agriculture. This study has discovered that use of zero energy with solar collectors might be useful in drying medicinal and aromatic plants in the agricultural industry. Also, hot water obtained from the solar collectors in the greenhouses using zero energy might be used for disinfecting the soil in summer. It is determined that heating the soil in the fall and winter months, i.e. the production seasons, might improve productivity. Use of solar collectors in agriculture improved the drying process of medicinal and aromatic plants, soil disinfection of greenhouses and soil temperature in the production season and thus it has a key role in terms of fertility.
