Abstract :Rapid changes in global economic trends suggest that future economy will be based on technology, knowledge and services. The article assesses entrepreneurial skills that are useful to meet economic challenges in the 21st century business environment by comparing various cases from European (including Switzerland and Macedonia) and Asian (such as Singapore) countries. Global society faces myriads of problems such as poverty, inequality, food shortages, water and energy security, global climate change, and environmental degradation. These challenges underline the importance of sustainable development. Skills such as the ability to understand the surrounding environment and to recognize habits help entrepreneurs to better apply change implementation. Suggested skills will give entrepreneurs the ability to produce options for possible solutions when facing new challenges. This research suggests how and why these new sets of skills are necessary to address new 21st century challenges.
