Abstract :The Democratic Party rule (1950-1960) is considered one of the important periods in Turkish political life. After the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, 27 years of one-party rule period, the result of the elections held on 14 May 1950, it has ended. Adnan Menderes's Democratic Party in this period in the presidency, Turkey's NATO entry and the application of the European Economic Community, has been realized. In addition, domestic political developments attracted attention during the period. The Democratic Party's ruling period has attracted attention with its economic policies as well as political developments. After the Second World War, 80% of the population lived in agricultural areas in the Anatolian geography. The world order and democratization efforts that were established after the war affected Turkish political and economic life. During this period, Marshall aid by the USA had an impact on economic, social and political fields. In the light of this information, this article aims to reveal the effects of the economic policies followed by the Democratic Party, which won the first multi-party elections of Turkish political life, in the ruling period.
