Abstract :The creative industries have become an increasingly popular political and academic discussşon topic in the world over the past three decades. In Turkey, it is a concept that has come to the fore recently and is the subject of relatively few academic publications. Although it is noteworthy that the studies on the subject in Turkey have started to enrich, especially in the last five years, it is necessary to be quite optimistic to say that a solid discussion ground has been established. In the field of public policy, there are many efforts that explicitly or implicitly refer to the idea of CI. On the other hand, it seems that CI is not defined as a holistic and coordinated policy area. In this context, where CI is predominantly considered as an analytical category and the potential changes it creates, especially its social effects, are not questioned, it becomes difficult to produce an authentic application. This study aims to add dimension to the CI discussion and draw attention to policy making in this area, based on the assumption that a tidy general picture is needed for the realization of original studies in the field of CI.Keywords : Creative Industries, Cultural Industries, Creative Economy, Turkey
