Abstract :In this study, the text types used in teaching Turkish to foreigners are analyzed. The aim of the study is to determine the number of sentences and words in the texts analyzed. In this direction, one text of each type from the textbooks prepared for A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 levels of Yedi İklim Turkish Teaching Set, which is widely used in teaching Turkish to foreigners in Turkey and abroad, was taken into consideration. In the qualitative study, the data were obtained by using document analysis technique. As a result of the study, it was found that there was no increase in the number of sentences and words used in narrative texts according to the levels, while there was a regular increase in the number of sentences and words used in informative texts from A1 level to C2 level. When narrative and informative texts were compared in terms of word count, it was found that the number of words in narrative texts was higher than in informative texts at levels A1, A2 and B1, while the number of words in informative texts was higher at levels B2, C1 and C2. When the average number of words in the sentence was evaluated according to levels, it was found that narrative and informative texts were similar, and when the average number of words in the sentence was compared, it was found that the average number of words in the sentence was higher in informative texts other than C1 level than in narrative texts. According to the levels, the number of words in the longest sentence in narrative texts was 13 at A1 level, 20 at A2 level, 13 at B1 level, 17 at B2 level, 29 at C1 level and 17 at C2 level. In informative texts, the number of words in the longest sentence according to the levels was 13 at A1 level, 27 at A2 level, 27 at B1 level, 18 at B2 level, 26 at C1 level and 30 at C2 level. As a result, it was concluded that there was an increase in the number of sentences and words in informative texts according to the levels, while there was no systematic increase in the number of sentences and words in narrative texts according to the levels. Keywords : Yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretimi, Yedi İklim Türkçe Öğretim Seti, metin türleri, cümle ve kelime kullanımı.
