Abstract :World Nomad Games (WNG) might revive ethnic sport games in Turkic-speaking countries. Moreover, the games can contribute to the development of tourism in Kyrgyzstan. This paper analyzes the existing literature on tourism market in Kyrgyzstan, the relationship between tourism and sport, and destination marketing. Furthermore, the paper focuses on 2016 World Nomad Games and discusses its features. In this work, World Nomad Games are regarded as an event of sport tourism, and information about its history and organization is provided. To obtain local opinions, 107 citizens of Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, are surveyed. Respondents include hotel and travel agency employees, and university students who study tourism. Based on the results of the survey, the future of WNG and obstacles to its development are discussed. Moreover, the work provides suggestions for actions necessary to make WNG a touristic brand of Kyrgyzstan. Keywords : sport event tourism, World Nomad Games
