Abstract :The Belisarius Tower in the city of Constantinopolis, which is described with contradictory statements by contemporary architectural historians, cannot be localized or identifi ed. More precisely, this tower is assumed to be a bastion attached to the Marmara sea fortifi cations. This paper, which is based on a wider research on the engravings and maps, intends to show that this tower wasn’t a bastion attached to the Marmara sea fortifi cations, but an independent tower rising out of the sea. Keywords : Konstantinopolis, kule, burç, deniz tahkimatı
