Abstract :His full name is Ebû Muhammed Cemâluddîn ‘Abdullâh b. Yusûf b. Ahmed b. ‘Abdillâh b. Hishâm al-Ansârî al-Mısrî (d. 708/1309) is an important linguist who stands out with his conciliatory aspect in Arabic language grammar, especially representing the common denominators of the Basra and Kufa schools. The author, who wrote works in many fields of Islamic sciences, left a legacy of works and methods that contribute to the field of language studies. We aimed to reveal both the works of Ibn Hishâm, whom we discussed in our study due to his important contributions to the Arabic language, and the original methods he used in his works. In line with this goal, we examined in detail Ibn Hisham’s approach to the issues and the method of istishhat with Arabic poems, which is one of the main evidences he relied on in his explanation process. Information is given about all the works he wrote in order to determine the author’s position among Arabic linguists and to reveal his unique method of tending to the subject in the light of his works. Finally, the author’s istişhâd method, which is the most obvious aspect of the narrative; It has been discussed from different perspectives such as its definition, historical process and sources.Keywords : Arap Dili, Arap Şiiri, İstihşâd, İbn Hişâm, Evdahu\'l Mesâlik
