Abstract :Hodja Ahmad Yassawi 1093-1166? , a man of heart, was born and raised in the same lands with thinker of Islamic civilization, al-Farabi 872-950? , who infl uenced Turks, Muslims, and the whole world with his wisdom and philosophy, and he infl uenced Turks, Muslims, and the whole world with his mystical style, as if he was completing al-Farabi’s thought. It could be observed that there is a sociological approach in Hodja Ahmad Yassawi’s the founder of one of the main veins of Islamic mysticism tradition thoughts, way of communicating with the society, and style of teaching religion to the society. Although this sociological perspective can be seen in some parts of his Divan-ı Hikmet, it actually shows itself in his was of connecting to the society. It is possible to see this perspective or approach in his style of presenting, teaching, and narrating Islam to the Turkish society in Turkistan. His effort to teach Islam to Turkish society, which is dominated with oral culture, in a simple and understandable way with tolerance is remarkable. This sociological reading approach has notable signifi cance in Yasawi’s message reaching out to the present. This work aims to understand the sociological reading approach in Hodja Ahmad Yassawi, and while contributing to the understanding of this approach, present Yesevi’s perspective on social events and phenomenon.Keywords : Hoca Ahmed Yesevî, Sosyolojik okuma, İslâm, Türkistan, Yesevîlik
