Abstract :In literature, it is indicated that both the unionization rate and the participation to union actitivities of women is lower than men. However, there is some studies that points out to the no more difference about attitudes towards unions between women and men. The main objective of this study to examine the differences between women and men in terms of attitudes towards unions and willingness to join union. On the other hand, the effect of attitudes toward unions and perceived gender discrimination on the willingness to join union is examined. The findings of this research is obtained by a survey which is applied to 336 students in Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. According to results of statistical study, it is determined that there is significant differences between women and men in terms of attitudes towards unions and the women have positive views about unions. There is no significant difference between women and men in terms of the willingness to join union. In women sample, attitudes towards unions and perceived gender discrimination have positive effects on willingness to join union. This study is pointed out that the importance of attitudes towards unions.
