Abstract :Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis MLL76 exhibits two mechanisms which confer resistance to virulent bacteriophages. These include interference with bacteriophage adsorption (Ads+) and bacteriophage DNA injection blocking (Phi+). Curing of plasmid DNA from strain MLL76 has allovved bacteriophage resistance functions assigned to two of its six plasmids. Keywords : Characterızatıon of Bacteriophage, Resistance Mechanısms, Lactococcuslactıs
