Bacterial Infections and Antibiogram Results of Farm, Pet and Other Some Animals in the Aegean Region

Abstract :In this work, bacterial agents and anitibotic susceptibility patterns isolated from samples belonging to cattle, sheep, goats, avian species, fish, cat, dog and alternative species (deer, ibex etc. ) sent to the laboratory from different provinces of Aegean region for diagnostic purposes between 2013 and 2014 are reported. Various Gram positive and negative bacteria were isolated and florfenicol was determined to be the most effective antibiotic for bacterial infections in many animal species. Bacterial isolates were found to be least susceptible to oxytetracycline and sulfamethoxazole+trimethoprim.Keywords : Farm animals, cats, dogs, bacterial infections, disc diffusion method
