One pot synthesis and spectral characterization of 5-Substitutedfuran-2-carbaldehyde N4-cyclohexyl thiosemicarbazones and their Ni(II) complexes

Abstract :In this work, the synthesis of thiosemicarbazones (I-V) was carried out using one pot method, multicomponent and catalyst-free reaction of cyclohexyl isothiocyanate, hydrazine monohydrate and 5-substituted-2-furancarbaldehydes in good yields. The chemical structures of 5-substituted-2-furancarbaldehyde thiosemicarbazones were eludicated using UV‐Vis, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, mass spectra, and elemental analysis. Also, the reaction of NiCl2.6H2O with thiosemicarbazones in 1:2 molar ratio by refluxing gave the nickel (II) complexes (Ia-Va) as binuclear and their structures characterized by UV-Vis, IR, and elemental analysis.Keywords : one pot synthesis, thiosemicarbazones, nickel complexes
