Abstract :In this study, gene and genotype frequencies were estimated in terms of hemoglobin (Hb-I) allele in the two different Japanese quail populations (Coturnix japonica) and it is controlled whether population is in Hardy-Weinberg ge-netic equiliubrium or not. The codominant effect of Hb-IA and Hb-IB alleles were determined in terms of polymorphic structured hemoglobin allele. Gene frequencies of Hb-IA allele were calculated as 0.67 ± 0.02 and 0.54 ± 0.02 in parent and progeny stock, respectively. It was concluded that the parent flock is in Hardy-Weinberg genetic equiliubrium in terms of Hb-I allele on contrary the progeny flock is not in genetic equiliubrium. Keywords : Japon bıldırcını, hemoglobin, polimorfizm
