Abstract :This study was conducted to determine the effect of salt irrigation water applications on chemical quality parameters of tomato plant such as total soluble dry matter dissolved in water, EC, fruit penetration resistance and fruit color For this purpose, a research was conducted on 8354 F1 tomato variety using irrigation water with six different salt concen-trations (EC = 500 dS/cm control, 750, 1000, 1500, 2000 and 2500 dS/cm), applying 75 % and 100 % of water need of plan, in randomized plots factorial experimental design with three replications under greenhouse conditions in Konya, in 2005 and 2006. At the end of the research, there was an increase in the yellowness and brightness of the fruit peel, while a decrease in the redness and EC. Besides, water soluble dry matter increased in 2005, fruit penetration resistance decreased, but it increased in 2006 by the increase of salinity of the irrigation water in both years. Some chemical quality parameters of tomato plant were negatively affected with the use of high salinity water and limitations amount of irrigation water. Keywords : Domates, sulama suyu tuzluluğu, meyve rengi, meyve eti sertliği
