Abstract :The primary purpose of the this study is to determine the isolated spore count from some major soil groups in Konya Plain and the Arbuscular Mycorrhizal (A.M.) colonization of plants and spore counts in these soils. For this purpose, mycorrhiza spore counts and mycorrhizal infection incidences in plant roots, grown in the places where the soil samples were collected, were determined by being sampled from rhizospher zone soil present in the depth of 0-20 cm under the major soil groups. The study results showed that the natural mycorrhizal potential (654 mycorrhiza spore/ 10 g air-dried soil) in hy-dromorfic alluvial soils from the major soil groups were found higher than that of other soil groups while the lowest spore count was found as 58 mycorrhiza spore/10 g air-dried soil in the alluvial soil group. Both the highest (95 %) and the lowest (10 %) mycorrhizal infection incidences were observed in the onion (Allium cepa). Mycorrhizal spores were localizeted on 50 micrometers sieve according to sieve diameter at all soil groups. In addition to, a positive correlation (p<0.01 or p<0.05) was found among the occurrence of mycorrhizal infection, the number of spore and soil properties. Keywords : Büyük toprak grubu, mikoriza, spor, infeksiyon
