Abstract :The contribution of irrigation is very important in the increase agricultural production. But, irrigation water should be used effectively. Therefore, it is required to use pressured irrigation system or pumping plants. It requires effectively usage of water and energy because the pumping plant is an energy conversion system. The specific energy consumption of irrigation pumping plants used in Middle Anatolia Region is approximately 1.01- 6.33 Mj m-3. This value changes in wide range and very high levels. The major factor that increases energy consumption is lower efficiency of plants and higher of total dynamic level. Pressured irrigation system and underground water sources are the most important factors that increase the total dynamic level. The pressured irrigation system should be chosen to use water effectively, and the specific energy consumption should be decreased to increase the economic level of our farmers. So, the efficiency of irrigation pumping plants and the farmers’ power of purchasing should be increased and input energy cost should be decreased. Keywords : Sulama pompaj tesisleri, özgül enerji tüketimi, verim
