Abstract :This study was conducted in Altınekin, Beyşehir, İsmil, Kaşınhanı and Factory(Center) sugar beet delivery centers (silos) in time period of 2004/2005 and 2005/2006. A long whit this study, fungal rots in sugar beet storages in Konya region and some factors effecting rots were researched. For this purpose, surveys are done in above mentioned sugar beet storages two years. At the end of the surveys in sugar beet storages, infection rate was determined 52.1% in 90 days. Also severity of disease was found as average 3.05%. Thirteen fungal organizms that caused root rot in sugar beet storages were determined. At the end of the isolations 349 fungal isolate were obtained from sugar beet roots. 83.64% of total isolates are belong to Penicillium spp. and Fusarium spp. isolates while 16.33% of isolates are belong to Alternaria spp., Pythium spp., Rhizopus spp., Rhizoctonia solani, Botrytis cinerea and Endomyces geotrichum. In the experi-ences that are conducted in Kaşınhanı and İsmil sugar beet delivery centers for determination effects of some factors on sugar beet root rot in 2004/2005 campaing seasons, the highest infection rate was determined on wounded sugar beet roots. Also disease severity is higher on wounded sugar beet roots than the others. Keywords : Fungus, Konya, şeker pancarı, silo çürüklüğü
