As for ecological planning is a planning approach that gets principle meeting the needs of society by not damaging the balance of natural ecosystems. In the context of this approach, open and green area systems emerge as important inputs especially on the level of space planning. Greenbelt, which is an important component of urban open and green area system and used in a lot of country in urban and regional scale –especially in England, Germany and Austria- is an important planning tool. Greenbelt was constituted to obtain cheap and abundant food and decrease the effect of epidemic deseases in England firstly. As for XVII. Century, Ledoux first planned first greenbelt city in France. The first greenbelt works in Konya started with a project which was made in 1981. "Konya Greenbelt Project” was made for meeting the green area need around city, by Konya Directory of Forestery.
