Abstract :Microorganism play an important role in soil physical, chemical and biological characteristics. The microorganisms convert the unusable substances into available forms for plants via mineralization. Microorganisms affect the soil productivity by producing unique enzymes. Thus, the biological activity of the soil is generally accepted as a measure of productivity. In this study, the relationship between organic matter and biological activity in wheat cultivated areas of Konya- Çumra plain at Çumra, Alibey and Alemdar series were investigated. According to the data obtained as a result of this study, the carbon dioxide production of in the wheat soil were between 21.97 43.11 mg CO2 / 100 g dry soil / 24 h, while the organic matter values varied from 0.82 to 3.97%. Differences between soil respiration values and organic matter for soil series were statistically significant. However, correlation between organic matter and soil respiration was insignificantKeywords : Toprak solunumu, Organik madde, Seri, Buğday
