Abstract :Callosobruchus maculatus (F.), a ubiquitously distributed pest, is of great economic significance owing to its capacity of feeding on various legumes. In this study, effects of temperature, population density and sexual index to C. maculatus were investigated. The temperature experiments were carried out at three different temperatures (25, 30 and 35°C), 55±5% relative humidity and dark conditions. Adult emergence of C. maculatus was maximum at 30°C (74%). The developmental time from egg hatching to adult emergence of C. maculatus was the shortest at 30°C and was found as 21.5 days. Moreover, effects of population density and sexual index on the number of egg laid perfemalewere investigated in the study. When the population density was 16 adults/petri dishes (8 females/8 males), the number of laid per female was the highest (73 eggs). Sexual index was maximum at 1/1 (female/male) ratio as 70 eggs. Keywords : Callosobruchus maculatus, Sıcaklık, Popülasyon Yoğunluğu, Cinsiyet Oranı, Gelişme
